Hire the networkwhen scale is the thing you are buying.
Both halves, at the same size, in the order a buyer needs them. If the left-hand column describes your situation, take it — we would rather lose the engagement than run it badly.
Eight rows, two of them marked for the other side.
A comparison worth reading has rows the author loses. These are the differences that change a decision, in the order they come up on a first call.
What independence costs you.It is fairer to name it than to imply it is free.
We cannot buy media at a holding company's rates
Their volume is real and ours is not comparable. If the engagement is mostly a media buy, that difference is money.
There is no bench of two hundred people
A slipped deadline gets solved by sequencing and senior hours, not by adding fifteen bodies on Monday.
Two offices, not nine
Nashville and Charleston. Clients are national, and the work runs remotely with time together on purpose rather than by mandate.
The claim is continuity. Here is what it produced.
“From the leadership team to the day to day account team, Pyxl has surpassed all expectations. The strategic insight provided and the execution of the plan is superior to any agency I have worked with previously. On top of that, they are just nice people to work with everyday. I can't say enough about how flexible and accommodating they were during the initial stages of the pandemic when we had to make many adjustments on the fly. I would highly recommend as a digital marketing agency.”
What buyers askabout who owns us.
Is an independent agency better than a holding company agency?
Not automatically, and it depends on what you are buying. A network buys media at rates an independent cannot match and can put two hundred people on a slipped deadline. An independent gives you the person who scoped the work still on it in month fourteen, and no margin target above the account. Buy media at scale from a network; buy a build from an independent.
Is Pyxl owned by a holding company or private equity?
No. Pyxl has been founder-owned every year since 2008, with no holding company and no private equity above it. In 2025 we were the acquirer twice, buying Cobble Hill in June and HOOK in August. The two owners who sign your proposal are the last stop for any decision about your engagement.
What can a holding company do that an independent agency cannot?
Three things, honestly. Buy media at volume rates, staff a bench hundreds deep when a date slips, and put a team in the room in nine markets. If the next twelve months are mostly a multi-market media buy, a network will do it better and cheaper than we can, and we will say so on the first call.
What happens to our account if a larger client signs?
Nothing changes, because there is no larger account to restaff you for. Your team is named at the start and stays named, which is how one client went seven phases from a website to a commerce backbone, a marketplace and an AI product without anyone being brought up to speed twice.
