Pyxl President Named in Knoxville Business Journal’s 40 Under 40
Knoxville, Tenn. – January 4, 2012 — Josh Phillips, president of digital marketing firm Pyxl, was recently named as one of The Greater Knoxville Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, which honors 40 individuals younger than 40 who are leaving an imprint on the Knoxville area through their professional and philanthropic efforts.
“I’m honored to be selected as one of Knoxville’s top 40 under 40 and incredibly proud of all the great things that have happened at Pyxl in the past few years,” said Phillips.
Phillips, who has been responsible for much of Pyxl’s growth, joined the company three years ago and quickly rose to the ranks of president. Under Phillips’ leadership, Pyxl has delivered a 3-year 47 percent Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR), grown from 2 employees to 17, expanded its office space in Knoxville and opened an additional office in Tempe, Ariz.
Additionally, Pyxl launched Kyoo, a social media aggregation tool that has since been praised by national online publications such as Mashable, The Next Web, PRDaily, Social Media Today and Social Media Explorer.
In recent years, Pyxl has launched award-winning, enterprise-class websites and web applications for major organizations such as the Consumer Electronics Association, the organization responsible for the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow, the Consumer Electronics Show; Carpathia Hosting, one of Inc. Magazine’s fastest growing companies in the US; and Pilot Flying J, one of the largest privately held companies in the US.
“Josh has a great way of taking a very complex campaign or market idea or issue or anything we’re dealing with and making it simple,” said Lynsay Caylor, social media marketing manager for Pilot Flying J. “He’s done such a great job at getting to know our company and leading his team in what interests us and what we like and how we present things.”
