Pyxl Serves Up Sponsorship for 2010 Knoxville Challenger
Knoxville, Tenn. – August 5, 2010 – Knoxville-based marketing services firm, Pyxl will return as a sponsor of the 2010 Knoxville Challenger, handling all aspects of the marketing plan surrounding the USTA Pro Circuit event.
This 7-day men’s professional tennis event will be held November 7-14 at the Knoxville Racquet Club. The Challenger has a proven track record of drawing the new wave of top tennis athletes and will offer $50,000 in prize money. The event, which has played a part in the careers of many notable players, including Andre Agassi, Any Roddick and James Blake, was designed to enable rising stars to earn ATP ranking points.
In support of the Challenger, Pyxl will donate all strategy consulting, graphic design, web design and development, public relations and social media for the event. This dynamic program is designed to assist the Challenger in gaining sponsors and promoting attendance at the event.
“The Pyxl team really has been an asset to the Knoxville Challenger these past two years,” said Howard Blum, tournament director. “Last year, they helped us to greatly exceed our sponsorship goals and attendance numbers, and I am confident that this year’s Knoxville Challenger will be another great one!”
With Pyxl’s help, last year’s event broke sponsorship goals by raising over $170,000 in cash and services rendered. This was the largest amount raised by any Challenger event in the country since the event’s inception and was more than the committee’s initial goal of $70,000.
Early event sponsors provided the funds necessary to cover event costs, which allowed $76,000 to benefit The Helen Ross McNabb Center, a regional not-for-profit organization that has provided quality and compassionate mental health care, addiction and recovery and social services to those in need within the Knoxville community since 1948.
“We believe, now more than ever, it’s important to support non-profit organizations like The Helen Ross McNabb Center,” said Josh Phillips, president of Pyxl. “We’re proud to be able to help a group that really does great things for the Knoxville Community.”
There are still many other sponsorship opportunities at both corporate and individual levels. With inclusion in online, outdoor, print and television advertising, in addition to event signage and programs, sponsors of the Knoxville Challenger can expect tens of thousands of impressions. Proceeds of the Knoxville Challenger will benefit The Helen Ross McNabb Center again in 2010.
