Pyxl Provides Pro Bono Web Design, Development to Every Child Outdoors Coalition

Knoxville, Tenn. – April 22, 2010 – Knoxville-based marketing services firm, Pyxl, announced today its partnership with Tennessee’s Every Child Outdoors Coalition (ECO-TN), a group of organizations advocating the importance of getting children outdoors in Tennessee. A pro bono project, Pyxl worked with the ECO-TN steering committee to design and develop its web presence.

“We really stand behind the mission of Every Child Outdoors, so we are happy to provide our web design and development services to this important organization,” said Josh Phillips, president of Pyxl.

In an effort to combat the growing detachment of today’s youth from the outdoors, ECO-TN’s mission is to promote and support opportunities that encourage children to engage with and experience the outdoors. To support this mission and the group’s “Outdoor Bill of Rights,” ECO-TN and Governor Phil Bredesen will host the Tennessee Governor’s Summit on Every Child Outdoors on May 11.

The event aims to provide an opportunity for decision makers and community leaders to better understand and discuss the connection between youth detachment from the outdoors, lack of physical exercise and increased health risks. The new ECO-TN website created by Pyxl currently serves as the registration area for this event.

Other well-known coalition partners include organizations such as the University of Tennessee, the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, Tennessee Department of Education and the Tennessee Department of Health.
