Creative Director

 

Pyxl is a 13-year old agency that has launched hundreds of websites and digital marketing campaigns for start-ups, mid-market growth companies, and multi-billion dollar market leaders including ICON Health (NordicTrack), CSC Serviceworks, Medtronic, IBM, Booz Allen, Ramboll, Akima, RazorSync, TeamHealth, United States Air Force Academy, QTS, Fillauer and more.  Over the last 13 years, our client’s customers have used our digital services to better learn, purchase or download concert tickets, handbags, furniture, clothing, sunglasses, home automation devices, hosting services, movie tickets, alcohol, trade shows, home security, healthcare services, mattresses, online courses, software, skincare products, hotel rooms, festival tickets, servers, medical devices, washing machines, pharmaceutical drugs, jobs, pet supplies, and endless charitable benefits and services. About the Role

Pyxl is seeking a strong Creative Director. The new Creative Director will work closely with our Director of Engineering on the planning, execution, and delivery of all web, app development and graphic design projects. Additionally, you will work closely with the President and the CEO in setting the creative strategy and roadmap. You will also assist in the pursuit of new opportunities involving complex, enterprise digital products, WordPress sites with eCommerce, CRM, and Marketing Automation platform integrations; as well as, cross-platform products. The Creative Director will supervise a team of Product, UX, UI and Graphic Designers and a network of contractors. This position can be located in Pyxl’s HQ in Nashville, Tennessee or remote.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy and development of all creative campaigns ensuring a consistent brand across channels
  • Lead a group of distributed designers – Product, UX, UI and Graphic
  • Facilitate workshops/discussions with clients, helping create an understanding of design strategy 
  • Create estimates on design hours for projects
  • Coordinate with UX/UI to ensure team cohesiveness
  • Mentor, manage and guide designers to grow their skill-set and professional development
  • Lead UX research, strategy and design
  • Network and have access to burstable resources
  • Develop and implement Pyxl’s UX strategy in conjunction with the leadership team
  • Assist in design tasks as needed

  • Figma, Miro, Fig Jam, Adobe Creative Suite

Management Skills Required

  • Demonstrated successful end-to-end leadership (strategy design through execution) of design projects for enterprise-level digital products, WordPress sites, enterprise-level applications, and creative design projects.
  • Presentation/Communication experience communicating expertise and aiding in Business Development
  • Experience leading a team of creatives 
  • Experience quoting and estimating projects
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong time management and problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated strong teamwork skills in working across teams to achieve successful project outcomes
  • Experience with website content strategy 
  • Experience with requirements gathering and project definition for research, usability, strategy and web design projects
  • Ability to translate concepts into planning and information architecture

Additional Skills

  • Utilize analytics, heatmaps, surveys, etc. to inform decisions to meet user and business goals
  • Plan the user journey for digital products, websites and applications through the view of user personas and content strategy
  • Create navigational structures, content strategies, user flows, information architectures, and additional documentation (i.e., FSD’s) necessary to communicate intended user experience and interaction opportunities
  • Keep up to date with best practices in UX/UI and product design, as well as business/industry trends
  • High-level understanding of accessibility on the web
  • Audit and provide insight into the usability of existing sites 
  • Present ideas and best practices to clients, team leads, designers and other internal stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of the web as a medium: HTML, CSS, web typography, responsive, fluid, and adaptive design.
  • Demonstrated portfolio of compelling, engaging digital solutions and an ability to define what makes them successful
  • Strong understanding of web interactions: patterns, best practices, common challenges, and solutions to those challenges
  • Strong understanding of product (Material Design and HIG), including but not limited to: TV platforms (Android, Apple, Roku), iOS, and Android

Experience with Figma, Miro and/or FigJam, and various Adobe Creative Suite applications (Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, etc.)
